The world is changing. So long are those days where go to college and get a job that you stay in for the next twenty to thirty years! Millennials are learning the hard way as they enter the workforce. People are finding various ways to add value to the public. In our so called “gig economy”, information is the new currency. We also can no longer wait for our employer to promote and develop us. We have to be proactive and committed to self-development, gain the experience you need and keep moving toward what you want to do. Your ability to learn and implement new information is going to be the key to your success and making your dreams happen.
For those of us fortunate to live in developed countries with adequate infrastructure and wifi, we have a world of information at our fingertips. Over the past few years, the internet has opened up our access to new educational resources, connecting to potential mentors, and leveraging the power of the internet to enhance our financial security!
Isn’t it amazing all the things we can do? We literally have personal and professional development at our fingertips. More and more individuals are creating content, videos, and courses to teach new skills–skills that you can learn in your spare time. Programs like the Khan academy, Coursera, YouTube and Udemy should top you list to get started learning new skills.
